Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending my sister’s BFF’s wedding (who was the bride in the bridal shower that I went for a couple of weeks back). I had so much fun! The wedding took place in the afternoon; it started at 2pm and the reception was at 6pm. The wedding was actually an event that took place over 2 weekends: the first one (the traditional wedding- known as the ‘send-off’) was last weekend in Arusha, Tanzania. Unfortunately I didn’t go for that one but I heard it was awesome! The second one was this past Saturday. I had a great time!
About what I wore, I got a dress made for this wedding. It was done by Boutique Mahali. I felt so girly and so fabulous in it! It was done in kitenge/African print fabric. Initially, I had wanted it to be all circular with a sharp A-line silhouette but the fabric wasn’t enough. The point was for it to be poofy, and it still was a little poofy so I was happy with the result!
So, this is going to be an image HEAVY post:
About the outfit, I figured that since the outfit sort of had a lot going on, I paired the dress with black suede peep toes and a black clutch purse, just to make the outfit look put-together.
Now to the reception. I have a thing for indoor receptions now. They are such an assurance! There are no ifs, but, in cases, etc. No worry about the weather and all. Ahhh, relaxing! (I’m talking like I was the one planning the wedding!) Pics please….
Guys, you wouldn’t believe that I was in such a rush to leave the house that day that I forgot to wear earrings! I was lucky enough to get a pair from a friend who had an extra pair. And they matched with my dress! Yay! Thanks Eunice! 🙂
Btw, look pics were taken before guests arrived at the reception! The reception was at Crowne Plaza btw. Now have a look-see at the reception, arrangements, decor and all…
So what do you guys think of my outfit? Girly? Yay, nay?
Have a lovely weekend people!
