That’s French for ‘how are you?’
I’ve always been a fan of Parisian style, especially over the past few months. I’ve become super obsessed with stripes for a casual/fun feel with my outfits. Moreso, I’m inclined to horizontal stripes, for some odd reason. You know how people say that bigger women shouldn’t wear horizontal stripes? I embrace them in all their glory. I simply can’t get enough. If you know where I can get horizontal striped tops and shirts, do tell!
There’s also the fact that any time I wear black and white, I feel the need to add a pop of red on my lips, which makes it all the more Parisian-inspired, and a pair of black flats. The only thing missing is taking me to Paris so I can blend in with the environment. I love that my job’s dress code is smart casual, so I almost always find myself in such outfits on weekdays. Very simple to throw on. No morning stress.
I’ve worn this outfit about twice, (and yes, I’m that shameless person who’ll casually wear the exact same outfit more than once, usually due to morning laziness) and both times, I’ve been told I look pretty, Parisian, or, “hey, Anita, kwani you’re going on a date?”. No people, I don’t dress for anyone but myself; which I think is part of the reasons I love fashion so much. My body becomes a daily canvas that portrays my mood and my feelings. I mean, who doesn’t love to look Parisian one day, and traditional African the next? Best thing about this outfit is that you can throw on a pair of heels and a leather jacket for an evening plan. Versatile.
In more different news, I think I’ll stick to one post a week for now, because work is a little hectic and sometimes I just get home and want to fall on my bed and sleep. Besides that, is it that when you’re an adult you absolutely have no time for yourself? I think I’ll write a post on this in the near future.
Notice the growth on my TWA? It’s been around 6 months since I big chopped (again) and it seems to be on a growth spurt. Whoa!
Hope you’re all having a good week!
