Usually, it’s for the fashion and style lovers. This one’s for the beauty and skincare lovers.
I’ll be honest, I’m not one to expect gifts, so I hardly consciously gift people (mostly for birthdays because I’m so indecisive and I feel like I’m a terrible birthday gift giver. Ok, unless I’m in a relationship and by then I usually would have thought about the gift months in advance lol. #JesusTakeTheWheelOfGiftGiving). So when I finally met up with Aisha from MUAddicts254, I was beyond surprised. It’s not everyday I receive a beauty box that contains so many items from my beauty wishlist!
I’ve really been getting into makeup and skincare, moreso trying to really make my face up (as in beat that face honey), all while taking care of my skin underneath, so this beauty box definitely came at the right time. I had also gone through a period of breakouts and rough patches- literally. So I’ve really been working on it for a few months. I still have some blemishes, but it has definitely become much smoother and the breakouts are much less. No one likes juicy pimples, however much we try to avoid them. Because, periods and progesterone.
The beauty box had a total of 11 products. ALL. FOR. ME. What?
From bottom left going clockwise: L’Oreal Magic Perfecting Base Primer; GlamGlow YouthMud TingleExfoliate Treatment; NYX Wonder Stick Highlight and Contour Stick in WS03 Dep Profond; Dirty Works 3-in-1 Gentle Micellar Cleansing Water; Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation in Toffee 330; NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Rust; Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Complex; The Body Shop British Rose Petal Soft Hand Cream; Too Faced Color Drenched Matte Lipstick in Maneater; Ulta Color Pure Eye Shadow Pigment in Henna and Makeup Revolution London Matte Blush Powder in Fusion.
I’ve already tried out a few of the products: and I’m so far liking the micellar water, the NYX Jumbo Pencil in the shade rust and the Too Faced lipstick. Unfortunately the primer made me breakout- the woes of having sensitive skin- so I gave it to one of my sisters. I also used the Shea Moisture oil and mixed a few drops of it in my hair oil mix. It really helped with my sensitive scalp. I’ve been in protective styling for about 2 months without giving my scalp a break, (yeah, what kinda natural haired gal am I, right?) so my scalp had been super inflamed and itchy, and luckily enough the Shea Moisture oil came to my rescue and really helped with the soothing. I’ve also tried out the Body Shop hand cream, and it’s safe to say that it now lives within the environs of my large handbag.

I’m yet to try out the rest of the items, but I’m super excited to, especially the Glam Glow face mask. Because, skincare. I try to have at least one face mask session a week, so I’m happy to try out the mask as a one-off alternative to the Body Shop tea tree mask that I bought while in Cape Town in November (I’ll have a post on that soon too). I’d love to share more super easy and budget friendly face mask options, so please comment if you’d like a post on that too. I’m really loving the new direction I’m taking with my beauty and skincare, so I’m really enjoying the process of trying out new stuff. This is what I do for fun, guys. Lol. What makeup/skincare items are you currently trying out? Let me know!
