My newest obsession.
You know how I always talk about transitioning outfits from day to night? I’m not sure if I have before- and if I have please remind me because my laptop crashed and so did my external hard drive so I lost all my photos and I had to start all over again- but if I have, no harm in sharing a different look, is there?
I’ve always been those people that mentally put outfits together and then try them on at some point to see if what I was thinking would actually translate into a wearable outfit. Key word: wearable. I know you might think that as a
personal style blogger that we always slay, slay, slay, but honestly there’s those moments-more often than not- that I tend to look like a homeless person. No bra, mismatched t-shirt and brick coloured sweat pants that I’ve had for about 10 years. It’s all about balance. And that’s where my style has been gravitating towards lately. Comfort over style. It started with not being able to wear heels (still can’t, by the way) because of my swollen right foot, and also because of the mileage I’m covering at work walking between buildings for meetings on weekdays. Don’t get me wrong, I’m also 100% there for those days when you need to wear those heels that make you question your purchase decisions and slay the hell out of life itself. Like I said, balance.
Just like finding different ways to make your clothes wearable for almost any occasion, I decided to show you how to style one of my current favourite pieces: the shirt dress. Something quite ‘controversial’ for the curvy/plus size woman. I say this because it is one of those garments that is mostly worn for comfort, and does nothing to enhance/flaunt your body shape/size. Breaking the myth that big girls can wear not-so-flattering garments and still be comfortable and sexy. Which is exactly why I’m here to begin with. Personally, one of my favourite outfits this year.

Hope you’ve all had a fantastic week! So looking forward to the weekend!
