Hello my lovelies!
Yet another food post.
Guys, bear with me but I plan on incorporating a lot of food related posts on this blog. Remember when I posted about Foodie Business? I have tried my hand at making a few more smoothies and they have been a great success! 🙂 I’m always getting my inspiration and recipes from Pinterest, and I get so excited at trying out new smoothie recipes. I was pinning lots of pics onto my boards when I thought that I should make a creamier smoothie- something with a banana (my new favourite fruit/superfood) and some yoghurt. So on a few occasions, off I went to the fridge and came out with yummy smoothies! And oh, by now we should all know that I should take photography classes or something because my skills are wanting.
The smoothies above were made with the same ingredients:
1 or 2 bananas (frozen the night before) (number of bananas depending on how many people I was going to make for)
And that’s it! I literally use my eyes to measure (‘eyeballing’) the yoghurt depending on how much I see fit. Pop the ingredients into a blender et voila! You have a smoothie. You can choose to use different toppings or more fruit in the blender. I really want to try out a blueberry banana smoothie soon!
Sometime during this week I came across a pin on Pinterest that came under the search term ‘breakfast shakes’. I checked out a few recipes under those key words and I was particularly attracted to a shake that had Mexican chocolate in it. I’m attracted to anything chocolatey with the exception of fruits. So I pinned the picture and got the recipe. After that I was only too excited to try out the shake (without the Mexican Chocolate unfortunately). This is how it came out…
Now, this shake was delish! I simply can’t wait to try the shake again! It had:
1 banana (frozen)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup oats
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
The banana was cut up into small pieces and frozen. The rest of the ingredients were mixed together and left to sit overnight in the fridge in a resealable container. Next day, all I did was pop the stuff into the blender and it was done! So good and filling , plus all raw and good for you! Y’all should try it out. Thinking of getting cacao nibs/flaxseeds/chia seeds to supercharge it for more protein. If I do that I’ll be sure to share. 🙂
Please let me know if you like these ‘healthy food’ posts.
Have a lovely weekend!
