Long time no write. Been experiencing some major bout of creator’s block/self doubt/impostor syndrome/why-am-I-still-doing-this-anyway type period. Also, ya girl is trying to climb the corporate ladder while trying to also maintain her social media spaces (and kind of failing at it, recently), and also trying to schedule shoots in between trying to have a life and making you guys not forget about me on social media. It’s tough. For starters, the Instagram and Facebook algorithms are probably plotting against me so it sorta feels like you guys aren’t seeing my posts. I’ll be honest- it does get a little disheartening. It makes me question whether doing this social media/content creation thing is worth it. Sometimes it’s a struggle to try and tell ourselves over and over again that we’re on different journeys. However, we march on.
Now, I’ve had my hair out for about 2 months- I know- in this Nairobi weather, and I’ve worn my hair in various styles, of which the most questions I’ve been getting is how to get my hair to look “like that” (in reference to 2-strand Bantu knot outs) or how I tie it up (when I’m wearing a top puff). After about 2 weeks of procrastination, the universe came through with its goodness and the sun came out in its full glory this past Friday so I was able to film a tutorial for y’all. Yes! So, for those who’ve been wanting to know how I tie my hair that way, especially for those with medium/awkward length hair, check out the tutorial on my YouTube page and subscribe if you haven’t already. Let me know if it was helpful!
