This outfit has taken ages to get to the blog! It’s quite a story, really. It started when I got a pair of jeans from my friend Antonette about 2-3 months ago. To me, they were in the perfect shade of blue, one that I’d never owned before. Problem was, the jeans were HUGE. When I say huge –
I may be exaggerating– , I mean that they were about 2 sizes bigger. I decided to challenge my tailor to get them to become the perfect pair of skinnies so that the outfit I’d been wanting to wear for ages could come to life. So, I told my tailor about the problem. Challenge accepted. I gave my tailor the jeans about 2 weeks ago to alter. I went back to fit them and lo and behold, they fit like a glove! This tailor is just the best! Btw, he’s the same tailor that made my kitenge blazer and pencil skirt. Did I ever mention that the blazer and skirt fit at the first fitting? *happy dance* Okay, I should get to the actual outfit!
I took these pics after a very long day that consisted of a wedding rehearsal, wedding errands, being stuck in traffic for a cumulative few hours, and just the general madness of a busy day!
Shirt stolen from Tim’s wardrobe 🙂 Love it! It completed the look perfectly. Very simple, casual and chic at the same time. (Btw, outfit inspiration came from meek-n-mild.com) 🙂
The shoes are a little dirty but I had a long day!
You wouldn’t believe we used a car as a lighting prop for the look photos! Talk about being creative! Big up Norman! And, lest I forget, an S/O to my sis Jackie for selecting the mullet skirt in my previous post! Thanks! :-*
